As human beings, we are each unique and complex, facing difficulties and stressors that can also be described as such.

Kaitlyn creates a therapeutic space that helps you process any difficulty you might be facing, whether that be work or school stress, past or recent trauma, or ongoing symptoms of anxiety or depression.

She utilizes her experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify what may be holding you back as well as what you might need to mobilize moving forward.

Her approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. She will be sure to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and foster a strong therapeutic relationship.

With Kaitlyn, you will feel comfortable and safe while expanding your way of thinking and reflecting on your past with new-found insight. She can help you learn and practice skills to break maladaptive patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while instilling healthier coping skills so that you can be the best version of yourself.

Training

Kaitlyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Connecticut and then went on to get her Masters in Social Work at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work.

She has specialized her practice in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma work, co-occurring disorders, and mindfulness practices. Kaitlyn is a certified Cognitive Therapist and Diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy after completing an intensive certification process. She is also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Kaitlyn has completed additional postgraduate training in trauma-focused care, couple’s counseling, and mindfulness practices.

Kaitlyn has also completed SCSU’s SIFI program and is SIFI certified to provide supervision and training to MSW interns.

Clinical Experience

Kaitlyn has experience working with a variety of populations and diagnoses. Throughout her career, she has focused on empowering individuals in a variety of settings and circumstances in order to help them instill confidence and decrease symptomology in taking their desired next steps.

Kaitlyn has noted experience working with clients going through life transitions and coping with the associated stressors and symptoms.

Kaitlyn has worked in homeless shelters, community mental health, and private practice and has worked with individuals, couples, and groups. She has practiced and applied multiple evidence-based therapies, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, and narrative therapy.
